The name “Kaimei” (啟美), pronounced “Kai2-Mei5” in Cantonese, originates from my native language. “Kai” means “enlightening” or “inspiring,” and “Mei” means “beautiful.” The concept was inspired by one of my elementary school art teachers who once said:
“When you look at a piece of art, find something you love about it before you critique it.”
